3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. started off great but went downhill and really needs editing By BethyMac76 ARC receive in exchange for an honest reviewI have not read many of JJ McAvoy’s books but I must say, they always start off great and pull you instantly and Child Star was no different. Amelia London and Noah Sloan are former child stars but they are also former lovers, but things didn’t end well and they now find themselves playing the lead roles opposite each other and the movie that is being made from the best seller book Sinners Like Us. There are still a lot of emotions between these two, you can feel the chemistry the moment the two of them are in the same room. Neither have moved on past what happened to end things so many years ago andPart one of this book was really great, I really enjoyed where the author took this story. Yes it had a bit of a fifty feel to it but the storyline of the book was completely different from that of fifty, it just felt like we got a bit of a glimpse of what things would have been like on a movie set for a bestselling book that was loved by millions of fans. Both Amelia and Noah have a great dynamic, you can feel the chemistry and the connection and you can’t help love when fireworks fly from these two, it’s explosive and it’s hot.Although just as part one was coming to an end and part two began, this story started to go downhill for me, first the story took a total unexpected turn and one that just felt too unrealistic and for me just didn’t fit with the storyline. And from there I found the story to go back and forth between falling flat to way to much happening and I really started to lose interest to the point I began to skim parts, especially the sex, it just felt like the same thing over and over again and for me just wasn’t adding any value to the storyline.I really wanted to continue to love this story after getting sucked into it in Part one but Part had me struggling with it and once I got to Part three of it, It just got to be way too unbelievable for me to enjoy it. The author is a great writer and I love her stories but this one seemed like way to many different storylines all thrown together and they just didn’t fit. Also, although I do normally love this author’s stories, they are always enjoyable to read, I am finding the one aspect to her books that seems to be a constant issue is her editing, or should I say the lack of editing. Normally when reading an ARC for review I do not comment on editing, but I have read a few published books by this author as well this one has already been published and they all have had way too many editing errors and not small ones that you can look past and I know I am not alone in this thought, I just hope the author starts to listen soon, as her stories are very good but the lack of editing are really hurting her in the end.ARC received in exchange for honest reviewArcArc recieved in

I have wanted to read this for quite a while so I was fired up to get all 3 books at once!Welcome to the world of movie stars, paparazzi and drama! Welcome to the story of two people who literally grew up in the spotlight together. Amelia London and Noah Sloan were two of America’s child star success stories who secretly found their escape from the pressure in one another. Then they grew up and so far apart with lies, deceit and pure disdain for one another. It is time for America’s Sweetheart and the famous Bad Boy of Hollywood to meet up again. When presented with a shot for new stardom can they put aside their past? Can they handle the EROTIC content? One thing is for sure…Amelia London is ready for this challenge…This one time sweetheart not only will have to step up her game to play a bad girl but she will have to spend her time with the one man who has broken her…My first kiss? Noah. My first time? Noah. My first heartbreak? Noah.Even after all of these years, Amelia London was still my kryptonite, and she still didn’t know it.Oh, wow…it was not going to be easy for this man either! YES! I really loved this read. I loved the tortured souls that Amelia and Noah were. I loved that it was Amelia who was so strong. I loved her push into Noah’s head, especially since she was already in his heart. It may have started as a job…acting in an erotic movie but it did not take long for real life to blend into the passionately driven set. Soon, it was clear that Amelia and Noah were so much more…I really enjoyed this book, especially the first 50% of the book. Now I admit, this got a bit cray-cray toward the middle and end. Somewhere in the midst of making a movie, a suspenseful and dangerous tale took over. IF the setting alone with two Hollywood “it” stars wasn’t enough, then the tale McAvoy spun was like watching a true life drama heist! Not to mention…Liam and Melody Callahan…WHAT????YESSSSS….FABULOUS! I loved the whole train of insanity and the sexy scorching second chance romance that came with it!

As per the title, the story revolves around two childstars who are now grown up to be quite a disappointment. Amelia London is trying to maintain her good girl image, while Noah Sloan is maintaining a bad boy image. Both of them used to be each other first love. Now they can't even stand to see each other eye to eye, so how are they going survive in the same movie. But the main event is not whether are they gonna bang each other again. There is a whole other kind of craziness happening in the background that lead to their break up in the first place. I'm bracing myself for more of JJ's kind of bizarreness coming up. Can't wait."How do I look at you, let alone love you, when I can't even love myself?"What I like about Childstar is the short and straight to the point way J. J. McAvoy told the story. Non of the draggy scene and filler plot. Even though the story is short, I felt the connection between the main characters. They both have fireworks when they just look at each other. As the story progress, we get a healthy dose of love between Amelia and Noah. Is great to see them together and posing an united front. Even with Noah's little hiccup with the law, it just make them stronger than ever. The only problem I have is I felt sometimes they gone to far while in front of the rolling cameras.I'm anxious to see more about what would happened after Amelia knew of the secret that Noah had been hiding. A whole load of clusterf@cks await the reader to uncover. Brace yourself for a suspenseful right filled with bullets and blood. In the end, Noah might just need to make a deal with the devil or sell his soul in order to keep Amelia safe forever.Honorable mentioned for the best cameo ever would be non other than The Callahans. Is great to see Liam and Melody Callahan again, plotting others death, while playing with their son and eating steak. For those who have not meet the Callahan from Ruthless People trilogy, you don't know what you are missing, especially if you into the whole violence crime and suspenseful plot and not afraid of rooting for the bad guys.
