The life has been allowed to write itself in extracts from her letters and journals. Free from the obtrusion of any mind but her own, this method serves, I think, better than any other open to me, to show the development of her intellect and character.In dealing with the correspondence, I have been influenced by the desire to make known the woman, as well as the author, through the presentation of her daily life.On the intellectual side there remains little to be learnt by those who already know George Eliot's books. In the twenty volumes which she wrote and published in her lifetime, will be found her best and ripest thoughts. The letters now published throw light on another side of her nature - not less important, but hitherto unknown to the public - the side of the affections.The intimate life was the core of the root from which sprung the fairest flowers of her inspiration. Fame came to her late in life, and, when it presented itself, was so weighted with the sense of responsibility, that it was in truth a rose with many thorns, for George Eliot had the temperament that shrinks from the position of a public character. By Charles777 I really hate to write a negative review for a small press monster mag/book, but the buyer needs to beware. The writing is truly horrible. The author of the review/synopsis (don't really know what is was) for Gargoyles must believe that he is clever and funny. He is neither. Just an obnoxious writer with little command of the English Language. There are just too many other mags that specialize in horror to waste your money on this one.

Obviously these guys are doing this for the love of it. And this kind of passion is sorely lacking in publishing today. Show your support and pick up a copy of MONSTER. It's like fanzine from back in the day. I miss those days too.

By John de Angelo I bought this book on the recommendation of Veronica Clark, author of the Warwolves of the Iron Cross series here on Amazon and Black Nazis II. This book is outstanding. It explores German-African relations and the lives of blacks living in Nazi Germany. They fared relatively well much to my surprise. And I learned that Erika Diek was actually Erika Ngambi ul Kuo, a mixed race Afro-German woman who married Louis Brody. Brody was a wrestler, actor and singer in the Third Reich. This book also discusses the N'Doki r*pe case which is almost impossible to find in English. Fantastic!

So I decided to read this book to remember how to draw people.I can say that there are very good advices on how to prepare for painting and how to choose the right pencil. And there were given excellent advices on the construction of proportions for drawing the human body. I think that drawing people is the most difficult thing in the work of the artist. Therefore, I recommend to all the artists who want to learn how to draw people to study this book.

By going through the 9 chapters of this book, we can get the basic concepts of drawing. Everything is clearly mensioned with picture. Well structured and direct description. Appendix included list of sites where we can learn drawing which a great thing. I personally recommend this book.
