The transfer from the printed page is sometimes difficult to read because of so many errors. The book itself is informative, especially the part after the Battle of Vittoria, but Napier' s writing style makes it slow going.

The medieval style art is in perfect synch with the Biblical poems. The art makes the text more meaningful. It's a great book to have for meditation any time., but it will be my go to prayer book for contemplating during the upcoming season of Lent.

The print is in a modern font, so it doesn't look anything like a medieval manuscript, and the borders are repeated so often that there are only five total and they look pretty cheesy. Definitely not worth the money, and there are better manuscript collections out there.

About the Author Giovanna Dell'Orto is an Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota's School of Journalism and Mass Communication. 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Mediocre, a lost opportunity. By Mark Stewart This is an ordinary historical narrative with little dash and vigour. It either assumes that the reader is totally familiar with the geographical landscape or hasn't given any consideration to have included even the most basic of maps. For a history of a country as particular as Australia its almost sacriligeous not to have included a single map. The photos are stuck in the middle of the book ias if to meet some standard but with little real substance other than to illustrate some of the people of the period. The language such as is used is reasonably accessible though even then it was an effort to complete the book.This was sadly a lost opportunity and my hope is that someone somewhere really makes the effort to do justice to the country's vibrant history in a work that really carries the reader, shows the original layout of the aboriginal tribes, the timely colonization through sequential maps in colour illustrating the birth of a nation. The vibrancy and colourfulness of a peoples history and maybe a continuation into recent times...as history is always being made. Its a fantastic country with potentially a great future. None of that was captured in this book.

There isn't a lot that's new here, with a heavy reliance on secondary sources and other histories. In addition, I was disappointed by some blatant factual errors, several confusing typos on dates, needless repetition, and some straight cut-and-paste pieces from dictionary definitions.The highlight is probably the coverage of the ten years leading up to Federation, where the excitement and the narrative remind the reader that the nation of Australia is something unique and special. But elsewhere there's no real voice or fresh interpretation - this is largely a story we all already know.

Your writing is always so refreshing, and such a nice change with your fiery characters! Bryce and Peyton a match made in heaven or..is it? Lol. They definitely have more in common then you would think, and are just great together! Both are fiesty characters and the way they head butt at times Wow! Of course there's plenty of sizzling moments that'll keep you warm, an action too! The storyline like the other books in the series was fantastic as was the plot. Highly recommended! Roar (Soldiers of Fortune Book 4)Aubrey Irons5 starsDUDE WHAT!?!?!? -- I just found this series and its over. I will be going back and getting all of these. Like now …I have missed out on the Archer family. I cannot believe it. This is an excellent series and I have to find out where these characters came from. You don’t have to read them to see that each is a standalone and I did go back and read the synopsis from the previous books. It gave me enough insight for me to be okay and continue on Roar before back clicking. This is Bryce Connors and PeytonThe Archer World Health Foundation is in motion and everyone is finally doing good. Logan, Quinn, Hudson, Reagan, Javier and Chelsea are mending fences and making strides to becoming a family.Peyton is trying to forget Bryce and Bryce is making it very hard. Logan and Bryce are best friends and Logan never knew about she and Bryce. Peyton walked away with no explanation the night all was to be revealed. Bringing her thoughts back to the present she notices a helicopter flying low. Something isn’t right and then all hell breaks lose. Logan is taken. Her only family she has left. The family she just found.Peyton’s world was shattered and she endured abuse at the hands of her mothers drunk boyfriend. She turned a blind eye sitting there watching TV as he burnt her over and over. And then Logan came for her. The brother she had no idea walked this earth. The moment Logan came for her and she stepped outside and laid eyes on the beautiful man named Bryce she knew it was trouble.Bryce had a s*** life. He was a junkie until Walter Archer saw more in him and helped him get clean along with Major Lawson, Walter’s best friend. The past has shown its head and its time for Bryce to shut it down. Blackriver has Logan. Its time to make everything right and end it. With Bryce technically “not existing” he is the only one who can go in until Peyton is out the door heading to save her brother. Bryce doesn’t know why Peyton just walked away that night. He knows her broken past and chalked it up to hers and his in Peyton’s eyes didn’t mix and never would. Add Logan kicking his ass into that mix and no more explanation needed. Needless to say friends … big reveal of why in this book and you will end up saying “are you kidding me!?!?!”This is full of BOOM you all. Action, sexy time, intense emotions and lots of heartbreaking flashbacks between both characters fill these pages and make this a fantastic story. I love every bit of Roar. I cannot wait to get my hands on the other three books. The stories center around Logan and Quinn, Javier and Chelsea, and Hudson and Reagan. Best thing along with the story lines – they are all free on Kindle Unlimited so there is NO reason to not click these up and give them a whirl. Its exactly why I did .. well along with the covers .. Bryce and Peyton By Karli This 212 page addition to the series is a potential standalone with an HEA, but it would be better if read from the first book, Heat, which gives background for the series. I've read the series from book one, recommend it and have it on my reread list.Bryce Connors: member of an MC at seventeen, Marine Corp deserter, drug addict, mercenary, recovering addict and corporate billionaire with a new identity at Archer Holdings..... Peyton Rivers: daughter of alcoholic mother, killed mother's abusive boyfriend at seventeen, rescued from jail by a half brother she didn't know she had, works for the same billionaire brother, Logan, at Archer holdings, and secret ex girlfriend of Bryce....Bryce and Peyton were ready to take their relationship to the next level when she walked out on him without explanation a year earlier. Now they are at a corporate groundbreaking ceremony when a helicopter with men in black attacks and takes Logan.Blackriver, a mercenary group that works for the DOD, is behind the kidnapping and the Archer extended family wants Logan back.
