I see some negative reviews centered around the story line and I must say, I loved the story line. I read Brazen novels because I love the witty dialog which Beck always delivers, I love the situation romances that bloom from completely unromantic origins (insert broom closet, here). I love the characters because I can see well rounded character development. And most of all I love the fantasy. If someone were to write a romance novel about a relationship that spawned from a mutual social group such as a country club or regular office interactions I think the book would be boring. I've worked in an office environment for 17 years and there is nothing I see in my office that makes me feel inspired to write a love story or romance novel. The romance novels traditionally appeal to women because they are centered around fantasy. So like I said, I don't think you can write an exciting romance novel based on a run of the mill office romance. Now throw in a spur of the moment tryst in a broom closet with an unsuspecting Santa and you've peaked my interest.The premise of this book is a case of mistaken identity during a sexual encounter involving a broom closet and a Santa Claus suit. I can see where some may argue "Santa's not that sexy" but the reason for the encounter in the broom closet had nothing to do with Santa's physical appearance but an attempt to heat up a frozen relationship which was completely backed up and explained in the background of the story. The subsequent material was a domino effect of real world situations that are not that hard to believe. Many seem to be bothered by the mistaken identity in the supply closet "tango" but I honestly don't think these characters in this situation would have done anything different. A man with the sexual escapade history described in the book would not try to stop a pretty lady wanting to get busy in the broom closet. And I honestly think a reserved, predictable woman who drank a bit of champagne to build up her confidence (to follow through with risque supply closet sex) in order to add some spark into her routine sex life would be to nervous and too determined to win over her man to have picked up on little queues that this was not her guy.Unlike some other reviewers I liked the characters in the story and I thought they had a pretty believable dynamic. I thought their attraction to each other developed from physical want and grew to more as the writer portrayed. I liked the twists and turns in the story-line and I connected with the characters and the story.I'm not sure what's up with some of the negative reviews. I like this story much better than some of the popular novels of this genre like the Crossfire series and Fifty Shades... This book met all my expectations and once again kept me up most of the night reading even though I needed a good night sleep. (I can always count on Beck's Brazen novels to take priority over a good night sleep, against my better judgement). All in all she is an entertaining author her characters are fun and likable and I like her sparky heroines. If you are a true Samanthe Beck fan I would suggest you give the book a try for yourself and ignore the critics. You might just find you develop a strange attractions to Santa Suits and supply closets:-)

However it lands her in a hot mess and the only way out is to leave and take a job in Maui to get out of the awkward situation that has become with the hot Santa who wasn’t her boyfriend oppssThough she might of move on , he isn’t letting her go that quiet easy as he isn’t any stranger. He is Rafe St Sebastian heir to the St. Sebastian resort business who is determined to let her not to get her awayHowever it just purely for professional reasons?It could have been easily a short hot story with that little nookie but Beck deliver a story that was fitting. With a situation like this it couldn’t be easy and I love that we really got into the main character heads as dealt with their issues with this relationship . And there was the whole boyfriend thing with Chelsea, the author nailed it perfectly and then there was Rafe and his daddy problems…..The end result is a good mix of , fun, humerous and of course sexy tied up in a neat little package with some stunning locations.I devoured this book like crazy as these two were the real deal. It may be cliché ridden and passionate but Beck has a style that I like. In a time of where millionaire romance stories have become billionaires and trillionaires romances. This a refreshing book, with all the hot sexy elements we love paired with a prose and author who knows how to keep her readers happy. This may be my first book I have read from Beck but it definitely won’t be the last.4.5 couples

By Melissa W Sooo.... in the intro to this book Ms. Beck says her inspiration was a picture of David Gandy (don't recognize the name.... Google him - you will thank me)... wearing nothing but a Santa hat. Ok.... I was hooked!This book was fun & HOT! Loved everything about it!Chelsea mistakes the new CEO dressed as Santa for her boyfriend and shoves him in a closet for some happy fun sexy times! When she discovers her mistake, she is mortified but can't stop thinking about the hot guy in the red suit!She runs he chases and it is an amazing persuit to the end!

She has been working day and night to get his conviction overturned effectively putting her life on hold. But after five and half years, he's still locked up and she's still not found a way to free him.When she happens upon Leo at Nash Security and Investigation, she's intrigued. They previously helped a man prove his freedom after being incarcerated for thirty-nine years and they did it for free. Apparently they accept one pro-bono hard-to-solve case every year. Even though that case had been taken, Cora is determined to talk them into taking hers.After Cora comes into his office, Leo decides he really wants to help her and her brother-and she's not half bad to look at. Leo's dad helps her case by convincing his son to accept the case. He knows he's ready to leave the practice to begin his law career but is selfish in wanting him to stay at the PI firm working with him. Maybe if he digs his teeth into this case, he can find a way to do what he loves but stay with the firm.As Cora and Leo start going through her files, they find they are fighting a growing attraction. Not to mention word getting around that the case is being worked with fresh eyes and that puts them on the real murderer's radar. The suspense ramps up as they try to weed through the clues and find the evidence to free her brother all the while keeping themselves alive.I enjoyed this quick read by Beth Yarnall! It was suspenseful, endearing, and even funny at times. I loved how strong-willed Cora was and that was the attraction for Leo. Leo is a softer type hero as he wasn't all up in her face as a lot of them are. He was protective when he needed to be and was so enamored of her. He was never forceful, more often choosing his sweet, squishy side to win Cora. Vindicate had the right amount of suspense mixed with romance that you never felt bored reading it. It's pretty captivating and once you start it, you will have a hard time putting it down. Highly recommended.4 stars/3 flamesThis book was provided to me for the express purpose of an honest review. IM interested enough to want tor ead the 2nd book By Ishabelle Manalo I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.This is my first book from this author. The reason I picked this book up was that the blurb sounded really intriguing. Of course, the story was all in all a good, solid one. I liked the heroine because she was fiercely determined. I like books where the heroines are not simpering weaklings who become victims of choice and circumstance. In this case, Cora had a goal, one that showed how loyal she is and how much she values family.I was expecting to be mildly entertained. I am surprised to have liked this book more than I expected. I mean, I've been burned many times whenever I try out new-to-me authors. Thankfully, I ended up liking this book enough to want to read the next installment. It may have focused too much on the romance and lost the suspense element somewhere along the way, but I'm not complaining. Hopefully, the next installment will be better and edgier.

I was pulled into this riveting tale on page one, and due to her skilled writing style, I did not want to put my kindle down. The story was well-crafted from a dual POV and loaded with emotive descriptions, cleverly stated personal insights, humor, intrigue, and occasional teasing hits of steam. It was perfection. I am thrilled with the knowledge I already have the second book in this series -Atone - loaded on my kindle, as I don’t want to leave these fascinating characters.

Georges One of the most intense, and accurate histories of this fine, and magnificant fighting force. He doesn't pull any punchies when dealing with the history of the Country of France, and the early history of their: "Foreign Legion". He has done a exremely good job with this book! The only real critisim may be in some miss identificatiion of some of the weapons, and the calibers used therein. AK-47's didn't come into the Indo-China Pennisula, and South Viet-Nam until about the mid-sixties, and then on. Some of the larger calibers were attirubued to the anti-aircraft variety. Maybe, they were used in the attacks? I would never condemn them. After having been such a situation I would recommend any and all to read this fine military history. Find out what "Patria Legio Nostra" really means. Thank you. --JeanPierre

In spite of that it was a captivating tale of how this branch of the French military has persisted almost 200 years simply with grit and determination. Even when the powers sent them on hopeless missions, they gave their all to the very end. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who understands and enjoys all of world military history.

"Minnesota Gold. . . ." deserves Gold By Amazon Customer Patrick Mader's book provided a very reader-friendly account of some of Minnesota's sports heroes who made a mark on the international level at the (summer and winter) Olympics. It's nice to see he has acknowledged both the famous and the lesser-known athletes in many sports. He has crafted enjoyable stories that are wrapped around the hard core facts and outcomes of these sometimes historically famous events (think 1980 "Miracle on Ice").The contents flow nicely as it is written in such a way as to convey a great first-time story for those too young to remember the events, as well as to re-create memories for those old enough to have witnessed or read about it.The gorgeous photos, graphics, and layout are equally impressive.

Thus false 'Orders of Battle' were purloined by enemy agents from the good offices of the other side's double agents By Dicky Cruyer For readers who buy on an intriguing title, beware: this is not a novel despite the sexy title. It's a documentary--the story of that part of the UK's Secret Intelligence Service [MI6] concerned with the Middle East theater [Montgomery, Wavell, Auchinlek, Rommel]. After war broke out in 1939, a new specialist sub-group was formed--Security Intelligence Middle East [SIME] with operations throughout the Middle east from Gibraltar to Beirut, Alexandria, Cairo, Damascus and Malta.The book tells the story of the leading double agents who worked for SIME throughout the region and in particular a triple agent code-named CHEESE. Until MI6's wartime files were declassified in 2011 nobody knew anything about this star secret agent who 'has few, if any, equals.'CHEESE's main claim to fame was his pioneering work in the field of strategic deception--where intelligence and war plans picked up by the enemy [the Nazis and the Italians] are taken as gospel truth when in fact they are deliberate deceptions: phony plans made up by diligent intelligence officers and passed on to agents to pull the wool over Hitler's beady eyes.Thus false 'Orders of Battle' were purloined by enemy agents from the good offices of the other side's double agents. At one point Rommel's forces in the western desert thought Montogomery [the defender of Alexandria and Cairo] had several more divisions to throw against them than he really had. And for some reason, the Germans and the Italians were far more gullible than anyone had anticipated.Perhaps the Anglo-Saxons have a gift for deception--in which case it helped win the war. The big D-Day deception [where the Allies, through double-agents planted false intelligence and were able to convince Hitler that the great invasion of the Continent would be launched in Calais rather than Normandy, was a direct offshoot of CHEESE's initial forays into the practices of deception by false intelligence.The big trouble with this longish tome is that apart from the multiple and colorful characters who peopled this shady world of double and triple agents, the writing gets bogged down in the turbid depths of a bureaucratic dossier. The style is lifted straight out of the government files and the author makes no attempt at bringing the stilted prose to life. Strictly for espionage aficionados--and the basis no doubt of some future, fascinating spy novel.
