The most powerful man in southern Arkansas, J.R. Simmons, is determined to put her behind bars for good and destroy everything she holds dear, including her boyfriend, Mason, and her friend Skeeter, reigning king of the Fenton County crime world. In a stunning betrayal, it seems as if J.R.’s son, Rose’s ex-boyfriend, might have turned tail and joined his father. But Rose doesn’t have to face this fight alone. Her tight-knit group of friends is dedicated to helping her figure out—and foil—J.R.’s plan for ruining her, Mason, and Skeeter. But even with their support and the use of her special power, Rose is at a disadvantage. J.R. is a criminal mastermind who has been using his money, power, and web of influence to hide his conspiracies for years. How can she hope to find solid evidence implicating someone who’s mastered the art of not getting caught? 12 of 12 people found the following review helpful. Lady Rose By Callmepar Joe loves Rose Gardner, the innocent naïve Rose from when he first met her. Mason loves the Rose that Joe left behind and appreciates the strong woman she's become. Skeeter loves the Lady in Black. But the dual identities of Rose Gardner and the Lady in Black have interwoven and the lines between them have blurred until she has blossomed into a woman that none of them fully comprehend or appreciate. Even her closest friends and family don't know the extent of her transformation. I thought this would be the last book in the series and am glad to see the story continues. As usual, the book ends with a myriad of unanswered questions and the hope that Rose will find the love she deserves and the frustration that I have to wait until May to find out! I loved it and couldn't put it down until I finished. Even then I stayed awake for a long time wondering what will happen next?

5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Denise Grover swank is a genius By Bri kallstrom Just finished the book and all I can say is that I'm stunned. The storyline has had me hooked since I finished the first book last year. To get ready for this book I re-read the entire series again to help familiarize myself with the series and I'm so glad I did that because Denise has a way of connecting important things from book to book. The characters in the book are so well thought out its amazing. This is the perfect combination of romance and mystery. I absolutely can't wait for the next book in May. Denise Grover swank you are my hero and I'm so glad to be apart of your fan group!

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. I love this series including this book By Chitalka I love this series including this book. Very complex characters, heart stopping twists. There are a few things in this book that stopped me from giving the book 5 stars. First of all, a lot of loose ends and some new plot turns that make this story too complicated. I am not sure I like all those changes in Neely Kate character unless the author is planning a spin-off.But the biggest thing I didn't like was the ending.Spoiler!!! Spoiler!!!!>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>It's really hard to believe Mason trully loves Rose after all. I would understend if he had some trust issues, but his excuse just doesn't sound realistic. So, yet another loving BF tells her how much he loves her just before he leaves her heartbroken after all she had to live through. After she saved his life more than once? Now we have to wait for 6 months to find out who will heal her broken heart. Would she go back to Joe, would Mason come to his senses, would Skeeter admit his feeling, or maybe Jed?Or maybe Carter?End of spoiler.Anyways, the book is very good. It just grabs you and pulls right into the story.

Best Ebook St Kilda: The Last and Outmost Isle, by Angela Gannon, George Geddes

In 1527 Hector Boece, the first Principal of King's College Aberdeen, wrote in his extensive 'History of the Scottish People' of an island of rocky crags and prehistoric sheep, which could only be reached through extreme danger to life. It was, he explained, 'the last and outmaist Ile' of Scotland. It was St Kilda. St Kilda breaks the waters of the Atlantic Ocean some 100 miles west of the mainland, and 40 miles west of the Outer Hebridean island of North Uist. On clear days it appears as a dark silhouette on a distant horizon. Approach it, and it resolves into seven shapes - the four islands of Hirta, Boreray, Soay and Dun, and three towering sea stacks. It is an enigmatic and awe-inspiring landscape, a starkly beautiful vision of 'life on the edge' which has fascinated everyone from travellers, antiquarians and conservationists to writers, film crews and tourists. And, perhaps as a result, it is one of the most mythologised and misunderstood places on earth. Archaeologists Angela Gannon and George Geddes have spent over nine months living and working on St Kilda, and have been part of a team which has been researching its complex and remarkable history for more than a decade. In this new book they turn the popular perception of the archipelago on its head. St Kilda, they argue, has never existed in total isolation, but has always been linked to a network of communities scattered across the north western seaboard and the Highlands of Scotland. 'The Last and Outmost Isle' pulls St Kilda back from the 'end of the world' to tell a compelling story of triumph over geographical adversity. What makes these islands so special is not their distance from 'civilisation', but rather their enduring capacity to remain a living, connected part of Scotland over the course of some three thousand years.

The origins of Galesburg can be traced to a group of courageous pioneers who came to this gently rolling prairie in 1837 and founded Knox College and the town. The founders were staunch abolitionists, and Galesburg became a major stop on the Underground Railroad. Farmers bought land owned by the college and reaped bountiful harvests from the virgin soil. But, Galesburg was more than just a college and farming community. In the mid- and late-19th century, two major railroads came through town: the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy (CB&Q) and the Atchison, Topeka, & Santa Fe Railroad. The CB&Q built one of the largest rail yards in the nation, and it is still expanding today. Manufacturers took advantage of Galesburgs ready transportation and able workforce, and the once-small town transformed into a successful municipality that offered good jobs and living wages. Small businesses and service companies thrived, and Main Street stores flourished. Images of America: Galesburg contains never-before-published images that show how Galesburg citizens worked, played, and worshipped from the 1880s to the 1960s.

Through sheer determination and personal example, he was able to accomplish incredible feats and push through even more incredible environmental barriers. If you want to be a leader of men, and ask them to do things that seem insurmountable, this book is for you. Forget about sports figures or actors as a hero, this book shows you what a real hero is and what they are made of.

The Vedanta was an inseparable part of Swami Vivekananda s personality. He lived and breathed this philosophy while preaching it to India and the west. While Vivekananda s landmark address at the Parliament of Religions in Chicago in 1893 established him as modern India s great spiritual leader, his popularity and appeal is attributed to his ability to integrate his human side with his profound spiritual side. In this beautifully written biography, Chaturvedi Badrinath liberates Vivekananda from the confines of the worship room and offers an unforgettable insight into the life of a man who was the very embodiment of the Vedanta that he preached.

By JerandJan I use 3 different Nikon DSLR's and was never able to fully understand how the auto focus system works. The too technical jargon in Nikon manuals and some other books was too confusing and of no interest to me. What I hoped for and what this book does for me is to explain in layman terms what the AF system is and how and when to use it different camera bodies. It is very helpful to explain in simple terms the different servo modes (af-s, af-c, and af-a). This book describes exactly what each one is and gives suggestions on using them. The explanation of AF area modes is likewise very helpful. The diagrams and explanations of the af modules are easy to understand and makes it easy to decide which ones to use. Of course it depends on the camera model being used, the lighting conditions, subject matter etc. These are all explained with nicely. I think I am finally beginning to understand how and when to use each one. Thanks to the diagrams and pictures of the different models, I'm not hesitant to change a setting as needed. It is important to note that in most cases, the different camera bodies are shown and explained separately so it is easy to use the book for almost any specific camera. The rest of the book has explanations and discussions of such things as remotes, flashes lenses, etc. There is also a lengthy area devoted to live view and video which I do not use.I am sure many will find those areas to be helpful. This is a well written easy to understand book. I recommend it to any Nikon DSLR users who have any questions about the autofocus system and how to use it on their specific camera.Disclaimer---I was sent a free copy of this book by the publisher to review.

Used them professionally for many years, first of course, the manual focus film models, then the autofocus film cameras, and eventually the full digital versions. Based on previews of this book I thought I might learn something about the modern Nikon autofocus system. And sure enough this book very clearly explains the Nikon autofocus system in a way that is jargon free. The author also gives specific settings advice for different subject areas, such as bird photography, specific sports, group shots, aerials, landscape, and so on. He spells out the differences between the DX cameras and the FX cameras, and the limitations and advantages of each. The book is very up-to-date in information and specifics. Live View is an area I've not used much because I wasn't sure how to deal with it. This book clears that up. The author is not afraid to make recommendations on equipment and how to use it. An extremely useful and helpful book.

By MyFyrByrd I purchased this book because it was the only dedicated book about this topic. As mentioned by another reviewer, I found errors. Only 15 pages into the book there are two completely conflicting descriptions of the dynamic auto focus system. On the lower left column of page 15, the author states that if you set the camera to one of the dynamic area modes (d-9, d-21, d39, d-51, 3D tracking) then you initially focus with the priority sensor (the center sensor in the group) but fail to keep the subject on that priority sensor for more than an "instant to about 1.5 seconds" the camera will assume you are trying to focus on a new subject. You will lose the ability to track your moving target if you can't reposition the target or subject on the priority sensor. Now jump one page ahead and it is stated that as long as you keep the subject (bird in this case) within any of the sensors (in that group of 9,21,39 or 51) that the camera will maintain focus (regardless if you cannot reposition the subject to the "priority sensor"). Well, which of these is true??? Guess I will have to experiment. I'm just a little upset that I had to pay money for this info and then find that I must experiment on my own to decide if the text on this page is correct or the text on that page is correct. To the readers of this, any comments explaining the dynamic focusing system and how it functions would be very helpful.More conflicting text about the dynamic focusing system can be found on pages 7: dynamic AF modes require continuous servo mode (AF-C). I agree...now move to page 21 (right column , second paragraph) which is on the same topic of dynamic focus: the first sentence reads that "because you are using one of the priority sensors to acquire the initial focus, the focus is as precise as if you were using AF-C. What???... The book just went through saying that you couldn't even enter the dynamic mode if you weren't already in AF-C. This makes no sense.More false info on page 8. the text reads: AF-A is not available on the D7200, D750, D810, or D4S. I own a D750 and this mode is available on my camera.
