About the Author The story begins in the Bronx in 1952 when Debbie Lynn Zwiebach was born, having won her first art award at age nine with her work published in the New York Times; her gift was apparent to all. She attended the High School of Music and Art then receive a BFA degree from MICA, graduating in 1973. She has been exhibiting in one woman and group shows since 1972. Her work has been featured in major motion pictures and published in newspapers in New York and Baltimore. Her work has also been featured on WJZ TV 13 and in New York on PBS WNET13, in a documentary called “Artists Evolved”. Most recently, her colorful aquatic images are on permanent display at the Johns Hopkins-Bayview campus for the Pediatric Emergency Department. She is an accomplished illustrator and has produced a series of work depicting local Baltimore landmarks. Her artistic style has evolved through a process of artistic improvisation. Debbie Lynn describes her work as “doodles turned into art” . In recent years she has worked predominantly in pen and ink, utilizing acid free colored pens to create the illusion that the piece is actually a painting. As Debbie Lynn describes it, she is “painting with pens”. No matter the subject or medium, the common denominator to all of Debbie Lynn’s work is the attention to detail and the use of creative patterns.

Markers are the only medium that seem to work, but, despite the price, the paper is of lower quality than most coloring books.. the colors bleed through. No perforations so ripping the pages out is difficult as well. The designs are beautiful.. I wish the shading could be removed. See pictures.

From his young adulthood, to his rise to success, to his downfall and subsequent incarceration, this serial offers a glimpse at some of the pivotal life events that shaped Sylvain Alastair.Yet, despite all of these revelations, the core of this man remains shrouded in mystery. Is the same man that strived to rescue and protect his mentally ill sister now the tormentor of someone else? What exactly is this family's history of mental illness and abuse? Does the family's castle have anything to do with this? So many questions remain unanswered.The story of Sylvain Alastair continues to be a captivating read. However, I missed Dani in this serial. I'm sure that Sylvain's history will prove to be an integral piece of this story, but I couldn't help but feel like it was just that. I felt like this serial was a big lead-in for whatever will happen in the next serial episode. It lacked any big, climactic event, but was filled with details that will, no doubt, prove to be important in the future of this series.All in all, I liked it. It was a quick read and held my attention. Some new characters were introduced to the story and a softer side of Sylvain is revealed. It wasn't as intense as the first serial, and Dani was noticeably absent from this installment, which was disappointing. I will continue the series, but am hoping that the intensity of the first serial, and Dani's character, will be predominant once again.

The Alastair character that Scarlett I agree is very sinister and doesn't offer aftercare for his submissive or at this point a show of protective behavior towards Dani. Alastair is a dark character with deep seed behavioral tendencies brought on by his father cruel up bring of Sylvain. Who references to himself as Alastair when committing the violent acts toward Dan I in the first novel. Now for the second gives insight to Alastair which was great but I felt it was cut short. The readers need more rather than a few ending sentence of what happened to the characters that Scarlett introduce in the second novel. I felt I was on my to understanding Alastair and was cut short.

Whenever I become tired of reading lighthearted romance, I turn to Scarlett Edwards.So far this series is very very sad. I'm sure the darkness is coming.I wonder how far Scarlett will take me into her dark world.Dani seems so fragile alreadyIt's a bit frightening that it will only get worse.Sylvain is a tortured sole.This will be a hard read, but sometimes, especially when written by Scarlett, it's soWorth it.

4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. I've read better By Serendipity_55 Dialogue was hard to follow, as far as who was speaking to whom. Also, the author would start a dialogue with a character asking a question and then interject inner ramblings, then a page later, the other character would answer. I would have to go the previous page to read what the question was because I forgot the question due to all the inner ramblings. I feel like this was a waste of $4. There are better books out there.

I wish a big publishing house would pick her up. I know she has a lot of fans, but she is as good of an author as some of the "famous" ones out there. That being said, I'm greatly looking forward to the rest of the Kings books. Like others, I want to know who the traitor is, but don't want the series to end. If you haven't read any of Heather's books, you need to. The Kings series is best read in order. You'll be grateful if you read all her books.

I liked the twist of them meeting and having that immediate attraction right at the start . . . and then discovering who each other was. It was fun watching them try to deny their attraction and keep their initial meeting (and subsequent feelings and desires) secret from everyone else. There was a huge cast of supporting characters but this is the fourth book in the series so most readers probably already knew who they were. And for those like me, meeting them for the first time, it wasn't too hard to keep track of who was who--almost everyone fell into the two categories of her family or his. Williams did a good job of showing them struggling with all the various aspects of a new relationships--it's not just about your feelings for each other but also about your past baggage, your family's thoughts and reactions and expectations, and your internal fears and vulnerabilities. Added to all of that is the challenge of living in different states. But Williams showed them working through it all to reach their happy ending. I sometimes found the dialogue to be a bit stilted but the more I read, the more I got used to it and decided it was just different regionalisms and speech patterns than I'm used to. Overall, it was a sweet, well-paced romance and I would give another of her books a try.I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

By DeeDee Although I'm sad to see the Henderson Family Series come to an end, Aaron's story was a great way to wrap things up. There was so much to love about this book: from the way that Aaron and Kacey meet and get it on, then have to hide that fact, to Kacey's mom, Sabrina, and her back story (which isn't often seen in novels, but is very real), and to Kacey's introduction to the Hendersons and the craziness that ensues (that brunch scene was CRAZY!!!) - just to name a few things.Great series. Papa Henderson mentioned his younger brother and his unmarried children, so I've got my fingers crossed that we'll get another set of Hendersons to fall in love with.

This time around we get Aaron's story. He has roamed around all over the states in his big rig & one of his one night stands ended up having family ties to his new business partner & past college friend. I enjoyed Aaron's story & catching up with all the Hendersons. I loved meeting Kacey's family as well and I hope we get more from those ladies in the future.

For example, there is a novella, Tom and Maggie Tolliver, with 13 short chapters, that is not included (this may be an exerpt of The Mill on the Floss, I'm not sure). No translations are included, nor letters. I believe some journaling is missing, and possibly some essays.That said, everything the publisher has listed is here: 1) All seven novels, including, Middlemarch, the Mill on the Floss, and Silas Marner. I believe all the major essays and poetry are here.But here are the 2 biggest selling points: The presentation of the the text itself is flawless with very minimal typing errors. Plus, every chapter is hyperlinked to the table of contents, which is set up in a most convenient manner. This is the very best of compilations for 2 bucks. It just doesn't get any better than this.

Fabulous collection of Eliot's work By Fred Burwell I think with such amazingly prolific 19th century authors, "complete" is always going to be a work in progress with e-collections. Unlike several other companies, however, Delphi Classics is extremely good about updating their author collections as they turn up more material. You don't have to repurchase the updated versions, although Amazon does not yet have an easy way of re-uploading (you still have to contact them). I highly recommend this George Eliot collection for its orderly presentation of her works, its clean and easy to navigate layout and its use of introductions to individual works. The images are a much appreciated added bonus. Although it's easy enough to gather her individual books for free, it's wonderful to have these masterpieces all together in one place, presented with care and at a remarkably low price.

There are only 2 novels in this book By Tony Dimito I bought it after reading another amazon online review that said all of the great novels are in this book. This book contains only "Adam Bede" and "The Lifted Veil." Though it is an 800+ page book, "Adam Bede" is 53 chapters long. I was hoping to read Middlemarch after reading Silas Marner. They are not in this book.

Very early religious records clearly demonstrate this immensely profitable method of enslavement of females.Pope Sixtus IV (15th century) became the first pope to issue licenses to prostitutes and to levy taxes (couillage) on their earnings.Priests themselves sold girls or forced them to become their concubines.Kings (William the Conquerer), bishops and even nun congregations exploited brothels.The Church promoted (in)directly prostitution, for it forbid sexual intercourse between married couples 'on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays, forty days before Easter and forty days before Christmas, not to omit the three days before attending Communion.'These rules confirm Matt Ridley's thesis (The Red Queen) that the Church tried to prevent married men to sire a legitimate heir. The Church Fathers were not first sons. While it did not contain much about the theatres, just a reffernce to their residence in Southwark, it did however tell a fascinating story of the horrible life these women had. A very interesting book, and for anyone interested in history or women's lib a must read!
