And the opposition of press, pulpit, medical fraternity, state and civic authorities were but avenues which spread abroad the new propaganda and recruited the ranks of John Alexander Dowie's following.His strong, pungent, denunciatory words and aggressive methods concerning the practice of medicine and surgery aroused the State Board of Health to action, in which they were defeated.
