Amazing Research By Diane Through One Family's Eyes by Susan Hollingworth is beautifully and painstakingly researched, and as a document for research is truly a valuable work. Although it cannot be called a non-fiction novel, it contains many snippets of information – like small coloured pictures – each of them adding padding and interest to what would otherwise be simply a name and a date. Not only has Susan Hollingworth listed the hundreds of descendants of the Currigans (both in USA and Australia), she has also shown how these people were affected by the many wars (England versus America; Americans versus the Indians; Americans versus Americans), witch-hunts, transportation (both to America and Australia) and normal migration. For anyone connected with the Corrigan/Currigan/Carrigan family, or, for that matter, anyone with connections to County Roscommon in Ireland, there is a wealth of information in Through One Family's Eyes. The unconnected reader can easily open the book randomly at any page to find small pearls of history and interesting family anecdotes.
