Caveat Emptor By Polymath-1776 For a book that's allegedly about Woodbridge and Carteret history, the author, quite frequently takes us down some side streets that have nothing to do with the subject matter. I AM a local historian, and to me, it felt more like I was being lectured by a frustrated history teacher whom couldn't keep his thoughts in order. A chapter that is supposed to be concerning (lets say bootlegging) will start off rambling for page after page about the history of bootlegging, then, quite suddenly in fact, in the middle there will be a paragraph or a page or two about one or both of the towns, followed by several more pages of drivel. I gave the tome every possible chance I could, I read the entire thing, hoping beyond hope that each one would get better. Alas, I was destined for utter disappointment. I am truly sorry I wasted not only my money, but my time, and what's left of my valuable eyesight. Perhaps, you, dear reader will find an appreciation that I could not. I sincerely hope you do. I do give Mr. Bond an A for effort, at least.
