Review Having read Who Really Owns Your Gold, I wasn't quite sure what to expect from this. But with all the craziness in the world right now it is most refreshing to find this book. The idea of 36 extant sermons of the man known as Jesus Christ pulled me right in. Having been a fan of the works of Tony Bushby, D M Murdock and Joseph Atwill for a number of years, there has remained that deep seated knowing that something pretty amazing took place in the Holy Land some two thousand years ago. However, the powers that want to be took great effort to cover up or destroy the truth and create a new story to fit their agenda. I must be honest and admit I skimmed over Part 1 so I could get to those 36 sermons! Been taking lots of notes and will be going back to re read. But the sermons! It's just like being touched by the miraculous and Jmmanuel Sananda has gifted us with truth. The Laws of Creation and the Universe are very important. We've been systematically denied all of this information for a very long time. It's very helpful to find them laid out for ease of access. These lost sermons instruct us to be bold in following the Laws of Creation. Organized religion is all about mind control and damned if you do and damned it you don't. The New Age teachings would love to see us all floating around on lotus pads in some airy fairy world. Both sides predominantly unknowing that all they have been taught has been carefully orchestrated and all roads lead to Rome!! The teachings of Jmmanuel Sananda urge us to get out there and live life according to the Laws and remember that each of us is individual and needs to follow our path individually! If you are looking for a milk toast JC who stands on the side of the road passing out flowers this book is not for you! About the Author PEGGY SUE GERRON was a teenager in Lubbock, Texas, with Buddy Holly when his hit song, “Peggy Sue,” made her an iconic part of rock ’n roll history. Today her namesake, “the first international rock anthem,” still hits the record charts in one part of the world or another, leading a Holland newspaper to dub Peggy Sue “the most famous woman in the world.” Peggy Sue’s tireless efforts “to keep the music alive” helped found the Buddy Holly Center, the Buddy Holly Festival, and the Crossroads of Texas Festival in Lubbock, drawing thousands from around the world to Buddy Holly’s hometown. She now works in Lubbock to prevent domestic violence and drug abuse. GLENDA CAMERON earned her M.A. from Texas Tech University, trained in substance abuse counseling, and taught school for more than thirty years. She coordinated several music festivals in Lubbock, co-founded the Rapunzel anti-drug program and RADAR TOWER, Inc. for addicted youth, and co-produced “Where Are They Now,” a VH1 Documentary, “Jerry Naylor: The Rockabilly Legends.” PEGGY SUE and GLENDA co-hosted a radio talk show, RAVE ON, filling the Texas airwaves for many years.

Interesting behind the scenes information not found elsewhere By Midwest Reviewer I bought the hardbound copy of this book in 2008, signed by both authors. It's a good book with a lot of interesting information not found elsewhere, and difficult to put down.Peggy Sue's recollections of events 50 years earlier are generally believable, and there are different perspectives here about Buddy Holly, her husband Jerry Allison, producer and manager Norman Petty, and Buddy's short-term wife, Maria Elena, than found in any other biography. Peggy Sue describes her husband as being a partier, adulterer, and alcoholic. She paints a warmer picture of Norman Petty than have other biographers, indicating that Buddy Holly continued his association with him and was making plans with Petty up until the end of his life. As far as Maria Elena, per Peggy Sue she had a definite attitude and was Buddy's "Yoko". After she met and married Buddy, the Crickets soon broke up and Buddy moved to New York. He made demo tapes in his New York apartment. Then followed his tragic death. Exactly the same scenario happened with John Lennon. Plus the miscarriages that both Maria Elena and Yoko suffered. That is, if Maria Elena was actually pregnant or just thought she might have been. I have read elsewhere that Maria Elena's pregnancy was never confirmed, and she didn't even see a doctor when she allegedly had a miscarriage in the bathroom, plus no one in the Holley family had known anything about this at the time. Maria Elena told the story of her purported pregnancy many years after Buddy died.Although I really like the book and all the behind the scenes information, she tends to paint a picture of both Buddy Holly and especially herself as poised, mature, wise and clear-thinking adults in every situation she describes. Peggy Sue was a teenager at the time, and how she states she responded to other people is just too "wise beyond her years" for a teenager. And she makes some questionable claims, such as Buddy Holly stopping an elevator between floors about 3 months after marrying Maria Elena to confide in Peggy Sue that he had a lawyer drawing up divorce papers. If that is true, it's sort of odd that Buddy would have continued to live with Maria Elena for the following couple months before his death. She says he also told her to divorce his pal and drummer Jerry Allison (who she generally has nothing good to say about), and mentions that Buddy Holly attempted to be intimate with her and implies a couple times that he maybe was interested in marrying her.Another problem is that the book is filled with quotations of conversations that took place 50 years earlier. She says she kept a journal, but unless she was carrying a tape recorder or taking shorthand in a notebook while talking to people at the time, all of the conversations within quotation marks are fictitious. No one has the ability to recollect verbatim, word for word, specific conversations between several people that took place decades ago - certainly not after 50 years. In this respect, the book is more a novelization based on facts.Nevertheless, the book is essential and very worthwhile for Buddy Holly fans as it provides behind the scenes information and a different perspective from previous biographies of Buddy Holly. I'm glad she wrote her story.

Fielding I was 8 years old "the Day the Music died", but I remember it well. I also saw both ''The Buddy Holly Story" movie and the stage play of the same name.This book gives a contrasting testimonial to what ACTUALLY occurred from the person best abled to testify. Therefore, I was anxious to read Peggy Sue's viewpoint of the story regarding the meteoric rise of Buddy Holly and The Crickets, and another opinion of producer Norman Petty and what led to the tragedy north of Clear Lake, Iowa. It also clarifies much of Peggy Sue's relationship with both Holly and her ex-husband, Jerry Allison. To me, it also clarified what I consider the strange relationship between Holly and his bride, Maria Santiago. This book is a 'must read' for anyone who is interested in the first decade of rock & roll. It's ONLY fault is that Peggy Sue's diary contains nothing about Buddy's earliest records when he recorded as Buddy & Bob. Nevertheless, that doesn't detract from this wonderfully written book. Buy it !!! It was difficult to put down !

We pick up where we left off from the first book Red. Desmond is still hiding himself to Sophia. While he knows Sophia by either her given name or her stage name "Sin", he still knows nothing about Sophia. Both are falling for each other in more ways than as a Dom and a Sub. Des is unsure how to handle his feelings because he has never felt he needed someone after the loss of his ex, but he can't get Sophia out of his mind. Of course we have another cliffhanger...and they are about to find out who the other really is. Will they survive the truth or will they both be broken permanently. We will find out in book three Green.

Of course, before she can do that, she must face Peter and break his heart, she just wants to be friends. Desmond is surprised by his attraction to Sophia as well as his desire to see her again. The drama is building as Sophia is working on her expose of Hush. What will happen when she learns her mysterious doms identity? Strap in for a sexy, drama filled ride!

OMG, you are going to love it, seriously reading along, good story line after first bk. red, then becomes more interesting, challenging, intriguing, their draw? Neither aware of what either is outside of the BDSM, the D& S become ? Sophia has been Sin and herself, but Desmond has just been Dom, look out hold on for the ride, about to get bumpy?

After reading this book i learnt some interesting tning i didnt know before. The book is laid out in a practical step by step way and makes it easy for anyone to follow, i particularly liked the part that teaches how to hold a guitar, because there are some things i am yet to master. If you are looking for a great simple guide on how to learn the guitar quickly then id encourage you to grab a copy of this book.

I was always fascinated how somebody can play so beautiful songs on this musical instrument. I was known some basic from school when i was young. Ehe Best of Digital Photography By Al Kunz The book entitled ‘The Best of the Digital Photography Book Series: is a compilation of a five book series written by Scott Kelby a couple of years ago. In this volume he has taken what he considers to be the best content from the five previous books. The purpose of this book is to equip the amateur photographer with the knowledge that a pro photographer would employ in a similar photo situation. At the outset, I must tell you that this is a volume packed with useful information presented in a concise format that makes it easy to read and to later retrieve information. Let’s look at the hard facts first. This book is smaller than most, measuring 6 in. by 9 in. It is a soft covered book of 268 pages, well suited to inclusion in your camera bag and after you read and digest the information within (that’s where you will want to put this book). As of this writing it retails on Amazon for $14.99. It is rated at a Beginner level however, I would include Intermediate as well. It consists of 14 Chapters, each covering a major facet of digital photography. I won’t belabor you with the names of all those facets but it includes chapters on Flash, Lenses, Portraits, Weddings, Sports, Landscape and so on.The book is unique in that each chapter consists of a series of one page fact sheets. That is, Kelby takes one subject relevant to the chapter, includes a picture illustration and the rest of the page is text concerning the page subject. For example, page 28 in the chapter entitled “The Truth About Lenses” is labeled “When to Use a Wide Angle Lens”. It contains a picture of a typical wide angle lens and the rest of the page contains text relating to a wide angle lens, its description and its uses. The next page covers a different lens and its uses. It’s a unique style to cover a vast subject like Digital Photography but I found it very successful. It presents a particular subject, displays it, and then describes it and its uses in a concise and no nonsense fashion. It fosters quick learning and makes future reference much easier as well. It’s just the facts with little extraneous material to get through. Each chapter ranges from 15 to 25 pages in length. It makes this book a fast reader and one that the reader can put down or pick up with little loss of place.Kelby also provides a web site on which he posts videos illustrating some of the Photoshop processes described in the book. After reading the book in its entirety, I went on the website. I was fairly well disappointed when several of the videos provided played without any accompanying audio. You could see the cursor going here and there on the screen but nothing audible described what was happening. The thought occurred to me that this was not a very good policy for Kelby to tout this web site only to find it partially crippled. I decided to follow this up and went on the Kelbyone website and managed to speak to a Customer Service agent. I described to her what I had found. She looked at the same site and confirmed my findings and stated the she would contact the technical folks to get it repaired. I asked if she would get back to me so that I could view the site contents when it was operating properly. Within an hour or two she sent me a message that the problem with the audio was cleared and thanked me for bringing it to their attention. It does a soul good when you experience a session with a person that works in “Customer Service” and that person lives up to every letter in that title.In summary, if you want a book that provides a bundle of information concerning the many aspects of Digital Photography and does so in a concise manner, this is your book. It is chock full of useful information that will greatly benefit the average digital photographer. As a bonus, the book can accompany the photographer in a camera bag for ready reference in the field. As stated previously, it is also backed by a willing and competent Customer Service organization. All that for about 15 bucks. What a deal!

His Digital Photography series is a constant "Go-To Companion" and this book is his "Best of the Best".I would rate my photography skills as "advanced intermediate", (probably a 6-handicap for those of you talking in golf terms), and Scott's style is simple, comprehensive and mixes in his sense of humor - something I appreciate.If you ever saw a photo and wondered how it was done, this book is for you!

Edna is the keeper of the bridge is the key to the travel past to present and or present to past. She is caring loveable mother and a bit of something else. Each journey within the series has a message or a lesson to be learned. If you want something truly unique , a romantic romp through time then then this series is for you.

I know that a series is suppose to flow from one book to the next but you can put these books to together in one novel and it continues so smoothly. I can't repeat it enough how much I enjoyed this series, fast paced, exciting, funny, mystery and romance all rolled into one story. Great read! Definitely five stars.

By ~Jodilicious ~ ALEBB Aubrey is a hell of an author, she never lets me down, always pushing the limits, and boundries which I absolutely love!! This isnt just another step story this one really does push in every way possible! Paige is pretty much a good girl, she loves to sing , an she loves to do in in front of an audience, she's a sweet girl. Knox on the other hand is a piece of work. He's ignorant, cocky, and doesn't care what comes out of his mouth. Not to mention very sexy! He always has crude comments to say to Paige , after awhile she can no longer ignore what her body wants, and needs. Things heat up, and one thing leads to another, but there's a huge problem... There step brother an sister. So now what? Oh wow! You seriously gotta read this!! I got this arc in return of an honest review, and I definitely recommend it!!

Again, this kind of story is so much fun!The teasing from Knox is merciless, but also hot as it makes good-girl Paige all flustered in a bad way. She's prim and proper due to a strict father, yet she has dreams pushing to come out. Good combination, and vital for the couple's relationship. I liked that a lot.The story has a quick-fire rhythm thanks to short chapters that alternate between the characters' point of view. Knox is a crude bad boy who loves to tease red-head Paige and fills page after page with tingling sensations. However hot the is, he also has a mind of his own and issues with family and his future. I liked that the light and fun tone of the story left some space to character development for both of them.Some scenes are deliciously naughty. Though the one in the bathroom positively steamed every surface. And that wasn't the end of it. Plenty of room for other explosions of hotness. In plenty of rooms, too ;o)I loved the way they inadvertently help each other break barriers and get the best in themselves out in the open. They have a lot of opposition, but that conflict and emotional rollercoaster intensified the romance. It was a lot of fun with the forbidden sneaking around the mansion, the crude remarks and hot attitude that Knox shows, and especially with Paige's dreams coming true, liberating her.There was a couple of things that I wasn't too fond of. For instance, sometimes I'd have appreciated some dialogues that were more meaningful to help establish the bond between the characters. And there is an intimate scene that proves they don't give a damn about consequences which I found odd.Apart from that, I enjoyed this stepbrother story a lot with its outrageous banter and the sweet and spicy romance. To be honest when I first started reading the book I thought it was going to be like most I read when it came to stepbrother books. That it was the same layout. I was so wrong. You are so in for a treat in this book. I loved it!!!!Paige McCauley was this talented young woman. She had her future laid out for her. She wanted to make her father happy but had this hidden love. She loved more then classical music and wanted more for her life then going to college and being a doctor. She loved to write her own music. She was truly a talented young lady. She had so many hope and dreams problem is she would never step out own her own and make them come true.You could not help but fall in love with Knox. He had that bad boy thing going on. By Sgt Fletcher This is one of the few books that I can say that are a must reference book for those that either live in or around the Mohawk Valley of New York State. Seasonal visitors to the area need this book even more so. The book is one of the restful, easy-to-read, yet packed full of information that one wonders how the author put it all together in an orderly manner. There are maps, charts, and even poetry. This book has something for everyone. I gave the book Five Stars but would have easily given it more. I hope there is 2nd edition since I would like to see some meteorological charts included in the next edition.

A delight for landscape painting lovers By applewood This coffee table sized catalogue of the current national tour of the Paul Allen Family collection of landscape paintings is a beautifully done presentation of the 39 painting exhibition. I had the pleasure of seeing this show in Portland Oregon earlier this month, and it will go on to show in four more venues in the US (next year in - DC Feb-May, Minneapolis July-Sept, New Orleans Oct-Jan 2017 and finally back home to Seattle Feb-May 2017). The show includes some really great pieces and is well worth seeing if you get the chance. This book does a very good job of presenting it if you can't see it in person, or just want to study a wide selection of quality works in more detail. The paintings cover the full range of natural landscapes in realistic, impressionist, surrealist and modern abstract styles and include works from the past four centuries (1625 to 2008).The book begins with an interview with Mr. Allen about his artistic interests and then a helpful essay by Chiyo Ishikawa on the historical background of these artists and their works. The bulk of the book is devoted to documenting each piece of the exhibition, arranged chronologically with a page of detailed description followed by a reproduction of the full piece and then often a two page larger reproduction of a detailed section. So usually we get 4 pages for each painting, and this gives a glimpse of how we'd want to see it in person - an overview (with historical context) and then a chance to get right up close and see the details. Of course what we miss in a book of photographs are the brush stroke details….but, such is the wonder and special quality of a live show.Some of these paintings work better than others in this magnified format, for example seeing details of Claude Monet's large washes of muted color didn't do much for me, and several of the enlargements lack crispness. A few of these painting didn't even do it for me in person, but the vast majority are both beautiful and dramatic as well as being masterfully executed. And several of them (for me these include the Jan Brueghler the Younger's 5 Senses series, Gustav Klimet's "Birch Forest", Maxfield Parrish's "Riverbank, Autumn", Gerhard Richter's "Vesuvius" and April Gornik's "Lake Light") are worth the price of admission alone.Overall a 4+ star quality presentation of a wonderful exhibit.

By Timothy Harfield *** IMPORTANT ***This review is intended as a criticism, NOT of the Bergin and Fisch translation or of Vico's master work as a whole, but rather ONLY of the Penguin Edition of the New Science. It has come to my attention that my comments have been attached to BOTH the Penguin edition and the classic translation by Bergin and Fisch. This is an Amazon problem, and one that I would ask the reader to bear in mind. Thank you to commentators on this review for bringing this problem to my attention.--Professor Donald Phillip Verene, Charles Howard Candler Professor of Metaphysics and Moral Philosophy at Emory University, and Director of the Institute for Vico Studies has written a devastating review of the Penguin translation (by David Marsh) and its introduction (by Anthony Grafton), both or which are fraught with egregious errors. These errors betray an inattention to Vico's life and writing as a whole, as well as a near-total ignorance of the field of Vico studies which has blossomed in the 20th century. Although this edition is attractive on account of its price, it was an unnecessary endeavor (Isaiah Berlin hailed the Bergin and Fisch edition as exceptional, and a role model for translation practice in general), a botched effort that is likely to do more harm to Vico's reputation in the English-speaking world than good.For those with a serious interest in Vico, the Penguin Edition of the New Science should be absolutely avoided. It is an unorthodox view of history that became the source of inspiration to a diverse group of scholars such as Karl Marx, James Joyce and Marshall McLuhan. It was my reading of McLuhan that caused me to seek out Vico, and therefore, read this book.If you have an interest in words and entomology, this is a book for you. Vico looks for the origin of civilization in the origin of words, and proposes theories that provoke thoughtful reflection. McLuhan used Vico to chart the future of civilization, as did Joyce.It is impossible to sum-up this book in a few words, and it is difficult to explain why it is worth reading, but nonetheless, I recommend it to those of you who have stumbled upon it here. If you've gotten to this page, of the 800 million pages in cyberspace, then you are probably someone who should read Vico.If you've never read Vico before, I highly recommend his autobiography, which contains a scholarly overview of Vico and his thought. It is a slimmer volume than this one, and could help you decide to read-on.

Vico mines history in his own unique method and style to compose a theory of civilizations, or what today is called the Philosophy of History.Several people asked where Vico is taught/who studies Vico. The Graduate Institute at St. John's College (Great Books program) studies Vico at length in the History segment, which is really Philosophy of History. The Great Books curriculum designers thought Vico was worth reading, and they were right. Also, the late philosopher Eric Voegelin wrote an essay in "Order and History" singling out Vico's work and advocating his "New Science." At Emory University Donald Philip Verene runs the Institute for Vico studies. There are also many collections of essays on Vico by both American and European scholars. St. John's College library in Annapolis contains a good number of them.Vico writes in numbered axioms and conclusions so he can refer to ideas numerically and connect them. The numbered ideas are not necessarily sequential but are connected around themes.There is a definite ending (in the Conclusion) regarding the culmination of civilization, which is what you want to get to, but without understanding how you got there it is significantly more hollow, so at least understand the trajectory of the earlier chapters first. To avoid getting bogged down or disoriented I would suggest doing the reading sequence listed on the St. John's College Grad Institute website. You can download the Graduate Reading List for History free. Remember to get to the end, otherwise you missed the big picture.

4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Not just another vampire love story By Gail Thompson This book is worth every star. It read like a movie it was so well written. This story delves into the Hierarchy of the very secret vampire world. This is a sexy love story with a happy ever after ending. I would like to thank the author for a book so well edited. I didn't notice any errors at all and it adds so much to the reading enjoyment.

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Vampire intrigue By blingsupreme I generally don't care for vampire stories, but this was well written and very interesting. It has great characters, romance and lots of intrigue. I got an ARC in exchange for an honest evaluation, and I highly recommend this story to lovers of this genre. I plan to read more stories from this author.

Goes Downhill after Chapter 4 By Valley Armchair Good first few chapters (a sample's worth) with interesting plot start and characters, but soon it evolves into one boring fight scene after another with wooden characters plus repetitive dialogue and descriptions.There is a desperate need for editing, with numerous examples of incorrect word choice/usage, such as "not with terror but with agape" and contradictory phrases such as when "the guards visibly relaxed... And Leah sensed their fear."I had to laugh when one description of Damien noted that "his cotton shirt was open at the neck, defining his scapula," which must have meant he had his shirt on backwards and pulled down to reveal only one of his shoulder blades, which I've never come read before as being a particularly sexy male body part, ha.
